Try to book your sitter as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. We generally work on a three month cycle, but can reserve slots further into the future. All bookings are subject to availability and at peak times availability is often limited.
We need to visit at least once a day to check in on your cat, either in the morning or in the afternoon. Our 'Double Drop-In' service means we visit once in the morning and once in the afternoon.
We try to visit durring day light hours. In the summer, morning visits generally take place between 6am-11am. Afternoon/evening from 4pm-9pm. In the winter, these windows are adjusted slightly.
Time spent at each ‘Drop-In’ visit is approximately 20–30 minutes depending on the cat.
Time spent at each ‘Stay & Play’ session is one hour.
You know your cat best, so if you want us to follow a particular schedule we'll try to accommodate this. If we are uncomfortable with this, or believe the cats well being is at risk, we'll let you know so we can find a suitable solution.
Durring our pre booking 'Cat Chat', we'll spend time talking about the personality, habits and general behaviour of your cat. It's important that you tell us as much as possible so we can build a picture of what 'normal' looks like for them.
If your cat prefers to be outside, then we will make reasonable efforts to locate and visually check the cat where possible. The same rule applies to house cats, that may choose to observe our visit from a safe hiding place.
If we can't locate your cat welfare check may be limited to observing food intake, litter use, and signs of activity. We will notify the owner of any concerns, or behaviour that falls outside of what we have been told to expect.
DBS: I hold an enhanced DBS check as a result of my work at Riddlesdown Collegiate High School. An Enhanced DBS check is the highest level of criminal record check in the UK. It includes all spent/unspent convictions, cautions, and, crucially, local police intelligence deemed relevant. This will be presented to clients during our first face to face 'Cat Chat', though I am delighted that my record is completely clean!
Property Safe: When entering and leaving your home, we will act like a friend making a visit. We don't use branded clothing or cars. If you consent to us posting photos of our cats on our social media channels, we won't do this untill after you return. We never draw attention to the fact that you are away, instead we try to make it appear that someone is home!
Key Safe: Your keys are stored in our safe, and only removed when visiting your property. Keys are coded, so in the unlikely event that they are lost or stolen, they are not linked to your property.
Data Safe: We are GDPR compliant, which means we have process in place to protect your data. A copy of our Privacy Policy can be found HERE.
Your Cat: If one of your cats becomes poorly or is in an accident, we will get your cat the veterinary help it needs, and let you know as soon as possible. If, for whatever reason, we can’t reach you, we will let your emergency contact know instead. As part of our tailored care plan, we have all the details of your cats and their vet. We will keep you updated on all the details and handle any charges in accordance with our policy.
Your Property: When visiting your property, if we notice any suspicious activity we will contact the police on either 999 or 111. If we notice damage to your property, such as a burst pipe or leak, we'll contact you so that suitable action can be taken. In both instances, we will let you know as soon as possible, and if we cant reach you we will let your emergency contact know.
